A good photographer is more than just a craftsman. He is an artistic explorer on a lifelong journey,  wandering the world and discovering its beauty to collect unforgettable experiences. Photography allows to perceive reality in a unique way, experience life intensely and capture those experiences for eternity.

Photographer, Matthias Dengler, has taught himself from scratch through yearlong dedication to only one goal: Being the best he personally can. As a result, his passion, endurance and hard work have led him to a creative career in photography and retouching.

Matthias, born and grown up in Germany, currently works in Gdansk, Poland, as retoucher at Quad Graphics, the biggest printing company in the US. Having studied geography, in 2015 he made a fresh start in the photographic branch as picture editor at Thomson Reuter’s global picture desk. Seeking for more photographic experience, he continued his professional work as studio assistant at a Polish fashion studio in 2016 until he left Poland to establish his travel photography portfolio, while working part-time as tour guide for Nordic Gateway AS in Stavanger, Norway. In Stavanger, he created a visual outdoor story for the sports and outdoor brand Bolder, until he returned six months later to Poland, starting his work as retoucher at Quad Graphics in Gdansk.

On his way, he has already been published by National Geographic Germany, won numerous international photo contests, was interviewed for and featured in Flickr’s spotlight and served as judge on Poland's national stage of the pan-European photo contest “Discover Europe”. Further, he has given a public talk at Sztuka Wyboru in Gdansk to share insights from his travels and photographic work. Over the last three years he has already visited 20 countries.
